The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), is a service organization of women age 18 and up who descended from ancestors who fought in or supported the American Revolutionary War. National, state, and local organizations have been established to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence, promote the development of an enlightened public opinion, and foster patriotic citizenship. The Twin Falls Chapter, NSDAR, is named for our central city of Twin Falls, Idaho, perhaps best known for our beautiful Snake River Canyon and Shoshone Falls. But our members come from all over Idaho's "Magic Valley" in the south-central part of the state. Our chapter is proud to serve our community, state, and nation by promoting patriotism, education, and historic preservation. Each year we recognize high school students as DAR Good Citizens, sponsor an American History Essay Contest, contribute to veterans' causes, encourage community involvement in Constitution Week, provide educational and patriotic programs for our members, and participate in a variety of other service activities. We are always looking for new members who share our enthusiasm for our country's heritage and our hopes for our country's future. We invite you to look around this website and contact us for further information.
Help us honor the veterans laid to rest at Filer Cemetery, West End Cemetery, Snake River Canyon National Cemetery, Twin Falls Cemetery, or Rock Creek Veterans Cemetery by sponsoring a veteran wreath for Wreaths Across America Day! Click here. |
